The 600d Pro is your hard source for exterior work and your punch-through when you need to win against Florida midday sun. Pair it with a large frame (8×8 or 4×4 bounce) to soften it into a workable key, or shoot it hard through a 60° lens for a motivated window. The 0.1% stepless dimming means you're never chasing stops — you dial the output to what the scene needs. With a Hyper Reflector it reads like a 1.2K HMI on camera but draws 720W from a quiet Honda gen. That math matters on location.
This is your workhorse fixture. It runs cool enough to be near talent, it's quiet enough to shoot dialogue next to, and the Sidus Link app means you can adjust from behind the monitor without walking the rig. I like mounting it on a 40" C-stand with a junior arm when doing overhead rigs, or on the 20×20 grid for large-coverage exterior scenes. The weather resistance is real — you can shoot coastal Florida exteriors without worrying about sea spray or afternoon humidity. Factor in one 100ft stinger from our package and you can position it well clear of the generator.
The 600d Pro is a large, heavy fixture — respect the weight on the arm. When mounting on a C-stand, use a sandbag on the base leg pointing toward the load, and don't fully extend the riser. The Bowens mount accepts all standard light modifiers: Aputure's own Lightdome II, Fresnel 2X, and any third-party Bowens-compatible modifier in our inventory. If this is your first time working with a large LED, the control box connects via a single cable to the lamp head — keep the cable run tidy and off the floor traffic path. The whole unit draws less than 8A at full output, so one 20A circuit handles it with room to spare.
Exterior commercial shoots needing to compete with or supplement Florida sunlight · Hard key sources for dramatic lighting looks · Large-format softbox key when modified · Motivated sun patches through windows on interior setups · Practical sky replacement when shooting against a cyclorama · Any setup that would normally call for HMI and benefits from silent, flicker-free LED performance
Dust & light rain resistant. The 600d Pro's sealed internal structure handles Florida humidity, sea spray, and light rain without issue. It is not rated for submersion. For hard rain, tent the fixture or wrap the control box — the head itself is more protected than the box. This is one of the few fixtures we'll deploy on open beach setups without extra weather protection.
