The Easyrig is what makes a 10-hour handheld shooting day survivable. With the MōVI Pro or a shoulder-mounted camera, operator fatigue sets in fast — typically after 15–20 continuous minutes. The Easyrig transfers the camera's weight from your arms and wrists to your core and hips, keeping your arms free for precise operation while the vest handles the load. For documentary, run-and-gun, and music video work where you're on your feet all day, it's not optional — it's the difference between a sharp handheld shot at hour 8 and a shaky, unusable one.
Gaffer
From the gaffer's perspective, the Easyrig changes the rigging calculus for on-camera lights. With the weight transferred to the vest, the operator can handle a slightly heavier camera package — meaning an on-camera SmallHD monitor or small LED fixture is more viable. Just keep in mind that the Easyrig's arm attachment point limits how far the operator can swing the camera — extreme low or overhead angles may require disconnecting the arm. Plan the shot accordingly.
Key Grip / Beginner
The Easyrig takes about 10 minutes to fit and adjust for each operator. Start by adjusting the vest to your body size — the waist strap should sit on your hip bones, not your waist. Then adjust the arm's spring tension using the dial at the arm pivot to match your specific payload. The arm should hold the rig at eye level with zero effort from your hands. Too much spring tension lifts the camera up; too little lets it sag. Dial it in before you start shooting, not during a take.
⚠ No Weather Rating
The Easyrig Minimax has no weather rating. The vest, arm, and spring mechanism are not sealed against moisture. Use in covered or dry conditions; avoid heavy rain. The metal arm can rust if not dried after exposure to humid coastal air.
